I am an integrative health care provider using the tools of Naturopathic & Functional Medicine.
I know that sounds super fancy, but what it means is that profoundly understand how your physical body is intertwined with your emotional body, the thinking and feeling part of you!
I have been practicing medicine for half a decade with a mission to provide you care beyond what you’ve experienced before. I merge science, mindset, and empathy to customize your root cause treatment approach.
An integrative approach marries nutrition, botanical medicine, lifestyle and mindset medicine with an human coaching experience to an approached tailored to who you are. The goal is having a sustainable and realistic plan that is accessible to you!
Since you’ll be taking me on as a teammate in your wellness journey, mutual respect and communication goes a long way. In our visits there will be open, honest discussions on what is optimal and what is possible that works within your lifestyle. This ensures you see results without sacrificing your goals outside of wellness.
I am well versed in treating
WOMEN …
let’s be honest, women are not small men. The biology that makes our bodies run, functions different than mens. This means care needs to be tailored in a slightly different manner.
GUT
- Constipation
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Unexplained gut issues: bloating, excessive gas, belching, heartburn, indigestion
HORMONAL
- Menopause
- Menstrual cycle irregularities
- PMS
What can be expected from an Integrative approach to your health?
We are a team with a mutual goal, your goal. To create successful teamwork there are aspects to a Naturopathic visit that will always hold true.
1. A space free of judgment.
2. Transparent communication.
3. Education surrounding root cause and treatment approach.
An initial visit at 75-90 minutes long first includes an in depth line of questioning with the goal of understanding your symptoms, and how they are impacting your quality of life. This will include an overview of recent blood work if provided, what has been tried in the past, pharmaceuticals and natural health products. First steps in your treatment plan will be provided during the first visit, any further assessments required will be ordered in this visit. Information collected in the initial visit will be applied to create an evidence based treatment plan specific to you and your concerns.
I graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Ontario and am now a board-certified Naturopath Doctor in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO).
Prior to this degree I graduated from University of Ottawa with a BSc in biopharmaceutical science and a focus in genomics.
In addition I am a member of:
- Ontario Association of Naturopath Doctors (OAND)
- Canadian Association of Naturopath Doctors (CAND)
- Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM)
In summary, you can expect a practical holistic treatment plan designed specifically for you dependent on your symptoms, past medical history, physical exams, past and present laboratory results and clinical judgement.
